We expect all team members to work consistently and to the best of their ability in all classes at all times. We wish for a positive environment for learning and mutual respect from teaching staff and fellow team members. We encourage students to be proud of their accomplishments and always look forward to new challenges in their training and development.
Participation is MANDATORY for all team members at all competitive events; including meetings, extra rehearsals, community events, showcases and competitions.
***Competitions, shows and rehearsals are not to be missed for reasons outside of illness or family emergency. Families will be asked to provide a doctor’s note for illness. Students who choose to miss a Turning Pointe Competitive event (including Showcase) will be dismissed from the team immediately and may not apply to return to the team until one full season after the dismissal.
Please note that we feel it is only fair that the choreography prepared for each group be performed properly with all participants as students have limited opportunities to perform during the season. As a team event, it is unacceptable for any student to miss any performance.
Students are required to attend all classes on a weekly basis. “Skills” classes are an essential part of training for the competitive program. Students are not permitted to choose choreography classes over skills classes. If a student is inconsistent in their attendance, please be advised they will be removed from their competitive choreography class.
This is the most important part of the competitive experience for our students. Turning Pointe believes in good sportsmanship and supporting not only fellow team members but also fellow dancers in the dance community. We ask students to learn and grow from each competitive experience and appreciate the feedback provided at each competition to assist in this endeavor.
If any student chooses to behave inappropriately or portrays bad sportsmanship or disrespect at anytime, immediate dismissal from the team will be implemented.
